The venue
On Avinguda Diagonal, the UB Faculty of Law stands as a benchmark of rationalism in Barcelona. Opened in 1958, this work by Guillermo Giráldez, Pedro López Iñigo, and Xavier Subías was awarded the first FAD Architecture Prize. Oriol Bohigas called it "the first modern and civilized public building" of the post-war era. Its functionalist design clearly distinguishes teaching and administrative functions across two volumes, integrating artistic elements like the mural "Les taules de la llei" by Josep Maria Subirachs and Antoni Cumella. A key piece of the city's architectural heritage.
