The venue
Founded in 1904 by Joan Balcells, the Fundació Orfeó Gracienc stands as a benchmark for choral music and cultural activity in Vila de Gràcia. Its history boasts collaborations with Pau Casals and Igor Stravinsky, who in 1934 conducted the first Spanish performance of his "Symphony of Psalms" here. Awarded the Creu de Sant Jordi in 1986, the institution houses the Teatre de l'Orfeó Gracienc, inaugurated in 1979 and designed by Jordi Bonet i Armengol. Today, it champions music, dance, and theatre through its schools and a vibrant program, cementing its impact on the neighborhood's cultural fabric.
