La Muralla Romana
Roman Wall: Barcino's foundations, the Gothic's heartbeat.

The venue
At Plaça Ramon Berenguer el Gran, a preserved section of Barcelona's Roman Wall reveals the foundations of Barcino, the colony founded in the 1st century BC. This second fortification, erected between the 2nd and 4th centuries AD to defend against incursions, is distinguished by its double-wall structure and towers that outlined the urban perimeter. Its historical relevance is accentuated here by the superposition of the Gothic Chapel of Santa Àgata, merging imperial solidity with medieval elegance on the same architectural axis in the Barri Gòtic.
