The venue
Nestled in the Sant Pere, Santa Caterina i la Ribera neighborhood, Mercat del Born stands as a landmark of Barcelona's iron architecture. Built between 1874 and 1876, its slender columns and glass roof pioneered the city's architectural scene, heralding Catalan Modernisme. It served as a bustling market until 1971. Beneath its impressive metallic frame lie the vestiges of the La Ribera neighborhood, demolished in 1714 after the Bourbon siege. Today, El Born Centre de Cultura i Memòria interprets this historical and archaeological legacy.
