The venue
On Avinguda de Josep Tarradellas, in the Nova Esquerra de l'Eixample district, stands the Monument to Josep Tarradellas, a stony anchor to civic memory. Unveiled in 1999 for the centenary of the former President of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the work is by Ignasi de Lecea and Xavier Corberó. Its 30-meter column merges irregular blocks of basaltic stone with polished marble segments. This composition not only contrasts materials but also symbolizes the Catalan flag, weaving history and design into the urban pulse of the Eixample.
