The venue
Located at Carrer de Montcada, 20, in El Born, Palau Dalmases stands as a testament to Barcelona's 17th and 18th-century architecture. Rebuilt in the late 17th century by Pau Dalmases Castells after the 1697 siege, its original Gothic facade gives way to an interior revealing Baroque opulence. Highlights include its courtyard and a staircase featuring Solomonic columns and mythological friezes – unique sculptural details. Historically, it hosted the influential Academia de los Desconfiados, a 1700s intellectual hub dedicated to Catalan language and culture. Today, the venue hosts flamenco performances, keeping its cultural spirit alive in the heart of Ciutat Vella.
