The venue

Palau de la Metal·lúrgia, known as Fira de Barcelona's Pavilion 8, stands on Avenida Reina Maria Cristina. Built for the 1929 International Exposition by Alexandre Soler i March and Amadeu Llopart, its architecture merges Art Deco with colossal expressionism, topped by a polyhedral dome. Initially an industrial hub, it transformed into Trilla-La Riva Studios (1931-1956), pioneering sound cinema in Spain and becoming one of the country's largest film sets. Today, in Poble-sec, it continues its vibrant role as a fair and cultural space, reflecting Barcelona's architectural evolution and heritage use.
