The venue
Perched on Turó de la Rovira, in el Carmel neighborhood, lie the Búnkers del Carmel – a tangible relic of the Spanish Civil War. These concrete structures, originally a 1937 anti-aircraft battery, shielded Barcelona from aerial bombings. After the conflict, the site became "Els Canons," an informal settlement that persisted until the late 20th century. Today, far from its military or residential past, the spot stands as a 360-degree viewpoint, offering a raw, expansive panorama of the city's urban fabric, from the Mediterranean to the Collserola mountain range. A space narrating resilience and transformation, now integrated into the Museo de Historia de Barcelona.
