The venue
Located in La Marina de Port, Sants-Montjuïc, Parc de Can Sabaté has stood since 1984 as an urban regeneration landmark. Designed by Neus Solé, Imma Jansana, and Daniel Navas, advised by Nicolau Maria Rubió i Tudurí, this space blends classic park design with postmodern language. Distinctive features include pergolas, ponds, and a narrow canal culminating in a green marble pyramid, creating a waterscape where water takes center stage. The park occupies the site of a former Sabaté family metallurgical industry, previously known as Can Barret. Its layout offers contrasts between broad, shaded areas, integrating diverse vegetation. It pioneered the strategy of enabling inner-block spaces in Barcelona.
