The venue
Born from Barcelona's 1992 Olympic urban renewal, Parc de les Cascades, designed by MBM Arquitectes, redefines the Barceloneta coastline. This green space in Ciutat Vella, built over a buried section of the Ronda del Litoral, serves as a prelude to the Olympic Village. Its design integrates a pond that spills into a waterfall, lending it its name. It houses two abstract sculptures: "David i Goliat" by Antoni Llena and "El Poder de la Paraula" by Auke de Vries. Mediterranean flora complements an infrastructure that transformed an industrial past into a contemporary design hub.
