The venue
Nestled in the Congrés i els Indians district, Refugi Antiaeri 977 stands as an architectural testament to the Civil War. Designed in 1936 by engineer Ramon Perera, its 153.40 meters of underground galleries – featuring Catalan vaults and zigzag entrances – were built for the passive defense of the population against bombardments. Rediscovered in 2007 during construction work in Pinar del Río, it still holds supply cupboards and a potential infirmary. This currently closed space evokes Barcelona's organized civil resistance.
