The venue

Number 52, Gran de Sant Andreu street, holds the memory of a tumultuous period. It was the headquarters of Section 10 of the Control Patrols, a public order force formed by antifascist militias during the Spanish Civil War, from 1936 to 1937. From this spot, they coordinated the territorial control of the neighborhood, performing police duties and detaining those perceived as opposed to the revolution. Sant Andreu, an epicenter of working-class and anarchist activity on the home front, was a key stage where these patrols, dissolved in 1937, enforced their law.
