The venue
Inaugurated in 1984 for the World Track Cycling Championships, the Velodrom Municipal d'Horta Miquel Poblet, designed by Esteve Bonell and Francesc Rius, received the FAD Architecture Award that same year. This infrastructure, an Olympic track cycling venue in 1992, stands in Horta as a testament to pre-Olympic Barcelona. Its 250-meter approved wooden track and Joan Brossa's imposing "Poema visual transitable en tres fases" at its entrance solidify it as a cultural and sports landmark in the Horta-Guinardó district.
