The venue
In the vibrant Raval, the Capella de Sant Joan stands as an architectural palimpsest. Originally the chapel of the Hospital de la Santa Creu, its 15th-century medieval origins converse with 18th-century Baroque reforms, including a portal by Pere Costa. After centuries of religious use, it transformed into a cultural center, hosting a Joan Miró retrospective in 1968. Since 1994, it serves as a platform for Barcelona's emerging art, blending its Romanesque and Gothic heritage with creative avant-garde. A nationally listed site, a key piece of the urban cultural pulse.
